Such a disappointment, because I was really looking forward to those first few tomatoes from the garden.  I did a little research, and I'm not really sure if this is due to a nutritional deficiency in the soil (like calcium), or inconsistent watering. I put my finger next to it for size reference.  I don't think I've ever seen such a big worm.  The chickens were pretty excited about it, too - I scooped all the worms up and tossed them in the coop. On a recent garage sale shopping day, we decided to pop in at a local thrift store while we were out, and ended up finding this vintage beauty for only 25 dollars.  Score! For the home cook, having a quality set of pots and pans is a must.  In addition to my set of stockpots and saucepans, I keep a couple of frying pans that are used pretty much every day.  I am not a Today was the 48th annual St Johns Parade, and 4th annual 'Bizarre' here in our North Portland neighborhood.  I love this parade because it has a wonderful, small-town community feel, even though we
